painting of a cat reading a book

The artwork and stories of Sue Clancy are totally smile enducing. Here’s what she submitted, dear HBT reader, so you can smile too… My mentor and adopted dad, Dr. Bob Hoke, had an Abyssinian cat named Missy. One day we were sitting and talking with our drinks, papers, and books strewn about the dining room table. When… Continue reading Guest Blog Post: “A Happy Tail,” in Sue Clancy’s exact words

How Do You Say Goodbye? by da-AL

Photo of ailing cat at the vet

This week I’ve been looking after a friend’s two elderly cats. While one shows her age only by her lack of teeth, the one in this photo was thin and slow. A couple of nights ago, this little guy was listless. My husband and I massaged him, got him to drink some broth, turned up… Continue reading How Do You Say Goodbye? by da-AL

So the loss of two pets in a week is a bit much. But I am ok.

A time for many to celebrate but if your pet eats or chews on something that is toxic or that can cause real harm to the animal’s body then there isn’t much to be happy about. There are so many things that are deadly or can make your pet sick that this list, as I typesort…
