I think I saw a horse laugh once. It drew the lips back from the teeth and whinnied through the teeth. It sounded like laughter, but I don’t know what the reason was.

My new doggie ‘s🐶 name is Chocolat
a baby(puppy if you prefer) Labrador,
She does smile 😊 when she is happy.
She is also grumpy when she does not
get her meal 🥘 in time.She is a little
princess, believe me!

Like people it is more than just a smile, it is the personality and love that goes with the smile… they smile because they are happy… they are not that much different than us humans… 🙂
