This is my second of three inspirational quotes about challenges, at the behest of Harvard.
“To Kill a Mockingbird” is one of the few books I’ve read several times. Several months ago, my local public library hosted a delightful series of gatherings where attendees took turns reading from it. Shortly before author Harper Lee passed away, she published a second book, “Go Tell a Watchmen,” which I highly recommend as well.
Today I nominate Insight Your Star, a blog with a mission to help readers to be their best.
Thank you again, Harvard, for this challenge.

I also love “To Kill a Mockingbird” and the movie version of it starring Gregory Peck, is one of the rare movies that is just as good as the book. I also read “Go Set a Watchman” and I’m glad you liked it but I was very disappointed with it. To me, it was just a very rough draft of Harper Lee’s earlier version of “Mockingbird” and I do believe that Harper Lee’s family had had it released just for profit only purposes. And I’m so very, very glad that her editor had urged her to re-write the novel but to concentrate on Scout and her family when she was much younger. I believe that “Watchman” was interesting as to how rough drafts and plots and character developments can dramatically change into a wonderfully eloquent and well-written finished novel but as a “pre-quel” it was not as well-written, or as interesting as “Mockingbird” later turned out to be.

Sissy Spacek does a supreme job on an audio book version I listened to.

even when i love something – music, a speaker, lecturer, friends or family talking with me – i’m an awful listener – don’t focus well. books on tape don’t work well for me. hopefully someone else reading your comment to me will be able to use it.

So many people I know say the same thing. I find that it depends on the reader – & of course the material too.
