Tales of Writing + Books + Compassion + Culture + Wagging Tails
Love reading and writing? Searching for intelligent writing that’s heartfelt (tales), fun, and often animal-loving (happiness and tails)? You’re in the right place!
If you enjoy the ideas and sensibility here, you’ll love my podcasts and novels once they’re published — “Flamenco & the Sitting Cat” and its sequel, “Tango & the Sitting Cat.” I adore reading, and they’re the kinds of stories that I seek out. They’re my colossal love letter to all who worry that they’re too old, too damaged, or too whatever to find love and happiness with or without a partner.
About da-AL

One of my short stories was printed in Verdad, a literary magazine of Long Beach City College. When I attended a short story class there as well as one at Golden West College (both in California), those two years I was granted the honor of attending Literary Women Festival of Authors as each institute’s Emerging Author.
I’ve always been a writer, starting as a reporter for TV, radio, and print. My journalism awards include an Emmy, plus various cable TV ones.
In the role of visual artist, I’ve been featured in “New Directions in Altered Books,” by Gabe Cyr and California State Long Beach’s literary journal, Rip Rap.
Before becoming a novelist and blogger, I was a reporter for TV, radio, and print. As a visual artist, some of my art is featured in “New Directions in Altered Books,” by Gabe Cyr and California State Long Beach’s literary journal, Rip Rap.) My journalism awards include several for cable TV and an Emmy.
Some of my childhood was spent in parts of Spain, much of my school years between U.S. coasts. Throughout, I was thrilled to exchange letters with my grandmothers in Argentina and Spain.
My Iranian-American husband and I share a passion for world dance, cuisine, music, travel, animals, and literature. The charming lab-mix dog in the photo keeps me from sitting too long and brooding over commas.
