Here I offer a tribute to Sister Rosetta Tharpe, an amazing lesbian woman of color who influenced even Chuck Berry.

My mother, first of all- and I,her first-born son, am a lot like her. Mrs. Katherine Vande and Ms. Miriam Kochakian, my prime High School English teachers, taught me how to write.

I’m always in awe of Madame Curie. To be a woman scientist in such an age of men was exceptional.

I look very much up to mother Theresa (and Albert Schweitzer … 😉 )
The Russians are very aware of this day. My female Russian colleagues always got flowers from their bosses on that day … if the bosses were Russians, or also from Russian male colleagues.

A great day to celebrate! So many women writers, artists, athletes, politicians, teachers, rabbis, singers, cowgirls, leaders, followers, entrepreneurs, dancers, pioneers, secretaries, nurses, musicians, sailors, poets, architects, scientists, doctors, accountants, rebels (I love the rebels!) comics, journalists, chefs, actors, bus drivers, inventors, and mothers – especially all the mothers.
